Gary Sanchez received plenty of blame last season when the Yankees’ season ended in the AL Division Series, far short of expectations. But he has bounced back in 2019 in a big way. During the Yankees’ 10-1 win over the Texas Rangers Tuesday night, Sanchez hit his 34th home run of the season. That set a single-season record for a Yankees catcher, which he set two years ago. And this is a franchise that has employed Bill Dickey, Yogi Berra, Elston Howard, Thurman Munson and Jorge Posada over the years. Each of them could hit a bit.
