Perhaps no person enjoyed the Yankees’ sweep of the Seattle Mariners more than James Paxton. After all, Paxton spent the first six seasons of his Major League career in Seattle, unable to dig the Mariners out of the American League West cellar. Now on a championship contender, Paxton was far from sharp in Thursday’s game against Seattle, but he still won his sixth consecutive decision, lasting five innings and limiting the Mariners to just one hit. Now Paxton seems a solid part of the Yankees’ post-season rotation.
