Syracuse Orthopedic Surgeons Yankees Flashback 7/20/2019

On this Hall of Fame weekend, it’s only fitting to look back to when previous Yankees got the call to Cooperstown. Not since the 1990s has a player gone in as a Yankees, with Reggie Jackson’s induction in 1993 and Phil Rizzuto a year later. They did their Hall of Fame speeches in their own unique way, with Jackson quoting Lou Gehrig’s “Luckiest Man” speech from July 4, 1939 and Rizzuto … well, he veered off script plenty, brushed flies off his microphone and probably more genuine laughs than any speech Cooperstown has ever seen.
