Syracuse Orthopedic Surgeons Yankees Flashback 6/29/19

There are many anniversaries for the Yankees to celebrate this year. But the most poignant is that it’s been 80 years since July 4, 1939, when Lou Gehrig, his career ended by the disease that would eventually bear his name, was honored at Yankee Stadium, the 1927 Yankees reuniting, Babe Ruth burying whatever grudge he had with his teammate and rival and Gehrig giving a now-legendary speech where he called himself the luckiest man on the face of the Earth even though he would pass away two years later.
