It’s hard to top the satisfaction the Yankees received from stealing its weekend series from the Oakland Athletics. First, it prevailed 4-3 last Saturday when D.J. LeMahieu smacked a solo home run in the bottom of the 11th inning. Then, trailing by a run to the A’s in the bottom of the ninth a day later, Brett Gardner tied it with a home run, and Mike Ford, a relative newcomer, smacked one out to win it. Back-to-back games won by walk-off home runs only adding to the magic of this special Yankees season.
